Working in IT in the private sector, spending free time on automation, self-hosted services, and small homelab experiments. Father of two.

I’m Steffen — welcome.

I work in IT in the private sector and spend a lot of my free time tinkering with systems, automation, and self-hosted services. I enjoy setting things up, breaking them, fixing them again, and slowly improving how everything fits together.

At home, I run a small server rack and a modest homelab where I experiment with things like Docker, Git, and various services that make life a little easier — or at least more interesting. Some projects are carefully planned, others start with “what happens if I try this?”.

I’m a father of two, which means free time comes in short bursts. When I do get the chance, I like working on setups that can run quietly in the background once they’re in a good state.

This site is mostly a place for notes, experiments, and thoughts around technology, automation, and the things I tinker with. It’s written for myself first, but if someone else finds it useful or relatable, that’s a nice bonus.

I also have a soft spot for open source. I like being able to see how things work, tweak them when needed, and share solutions back when possible. A lot of what I run and experiment with is open source, and this site is partly a way to give something back by documenting what I learn along the way.

Glad to see you here, and I hope you find something interesting.
